Magnum Energy MSH4024M 4000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger for RVs, Boats & Off-Grid Power - Reliable Backup for Home & Outdoor Adventures

I have wanted one of these for years. Almost broke down and bought Aims or Spartan. This has so many great features. We are retired military in a forest river 5th wheel. The military camp grounds are inexpensive compared to civilian. We are at Camp Lejeune dry camping now paying $240 a month instead of $960 for full hook up. I used the $720 savings and invested in solar and this hybrid inverter. Now that i have everything installed i can actually run one roof top AC just from my solar panels and this inverter and when the sun goes down the inverter turns on the generator until the desired temp or the batteries are full. It is really amazing having the sun as a power source and being energy independent. Going to Key West next where it's all dry camp for $17 a night. with this system i should only burn a couple gallons of gas a day. Also put a soft start from micro air on my AC's now it only takes 17 amps to lock the compressor and start AC. The only other upgrade i can see is getting a kubota 7k water cooled gen set to put in bed of truck for winter camping in north. Also going to try some flexable solar panels with suction cups on side of RV or on slide toppers and awning for extra power. this inverter has the amps to run both AC or it can start generator to run 1 ac on batteries.. AWESOME PRODUCTThe inverter works great, and the hybrid function is handy, but the charger failed after three months of light use. I can only imagine how long before the entire thing quits. Should have gone with an outback.Updated to five stars. After sending the wrong replacement, and then finally getting a good one, the inverter has worked flawlessly for seven months... so far.The Magnum HYBRID inverters are an unknown Gem in the Mobile Inverter RV, Truck, Motorhome industry. AC coupling allows you to use the AC side, either when batteries are low, or to charge at the same time. AAC, and VDC support work extremely well. The PT100 Charge Controller supports Ground Fault and Arc Fault right out of the box, and allows you to over subscribe the panels on your unit, especially if they are installed flat. I consistently use the inverter at 50% to run our AC at 2000w, Do yourself a favor, if you are looking for a mobile inverter, look at the Magnum HYBRIDS FIRST! Life will be wonderful.These are good inverters, but mine received was damaged. Still gave it a shot to see if it was just cosmetic, but the charger is having problems spiking voltages as it switches from bulk/absorb/float.This product was exactly as ordered, came in a reasonable time frame, and does exactly what it is intended to do.Very happy with this inverterI spent 4 hours hooking this inverter up. I was not aware that Magnum did not hook up the wires they were supposed to when it left the factory. I returned the Inverter several weeks ago, but have not been sent a refund. Now, I need to spend another 4 hours hooking up a new inverter. Poor craftsmanship.Great Inverter. They are extremely heavy, so make sure they are packaged well for shipping and transport. Unlike cheap inverters this one allows for plugging into anything from 10a to 50a and still get the full 50a when needed from batteries.If you are going to be building an off grid power system of any significance - save your time researching and money. Just buy this one.Easy setup and inverts and charges like a dream. Runs two off grid Rv's for us, including A/C. If no sun or you need more power, you can turn on your generator and this unit will power all your current power needs while charging your battery bank.Customer service - if you even need it, was extremely responsive and knowledgeable.Better than 5 other inverters I tried.
